Introduction.

The theme of this blog is simple. It is a call to be biblical again. It is my prayer that the church in America will repent of its penchant for fads and love Jesus again. Hence the title. Al tosap al davaraiv is an approximate pronunciation of the first four Hebrew words of Proverbs 30:5-6. In English it is "Do not add to His words." The blog address comes from Deuteronomy 4:2, where we read,. "Never add to the word which I commanded you (mp) and never take from it, in order that you may keep the commandments of Yahweh your (mp) God which I commanded you (mp)."

In the coming days we will start with a biblical, common sense view of knowledge (epistemology). This is because I teach Greek and Hebrew at a small Christian Bible college and it behooves me to motivate students to learn. It is a godly endeavor to know.

There is, however, another reason for the emphasis on knowing. It is in answer the the Emergent heresy. Brian McLaren, Dan Kimball, and theooze.com are pulling a lot of unsuspecting Christians out of good churches, into an apostate movement that is neither emerging nor Christian. They hate propositional truth. It is my contention, then, that they also hate God and His People, whether they know it or not.

i KNEW it...i KNEW it...i KNEW it...
I recently met a couple pastors who confirmed a long held suspicion. Knowing the low level of biblical knowledge among the men currently infesting most pulpits, I've spent the last decade unable to come up with any explanation for this sad phenomenon other than these guys are stealing from the folks. They aren't spending any time at all studying the Scripture. Taking the salary, but not doing the work. Stealing.

I'll name them, allow them to answer if they wish, and give you a complete rundown of the shocking facts.

You'll be appalled at what these two FOUR STAR GENERALS OF THE ILLITERATI seem to actually do with their time.

BURN THE SEMINARY TO SAVE THE CHURCH? ...PERHAPS
In today's church a man can spend $100,000 going to Bible school and seminary for just tuition alone. Then add living expenses for 4 to 7 years without a real income.

Why?

Why are we sending young men and women thousands of miles from their home churches and into decades of debt?

Is someone serving themselves instead of God? How much did Paul charge Timothy to train him for the ministry? Why has the biblical model been replaced by a super-expensive, non-biblical bucket of nonsense like the Bible-school-and-seminary system. Is there another way to get biblical training without this sort of compromise?

I think so. And I'll prove it. A series called "Burn the Seminary" will follow the current series on The Lost Doctrine of Holiness.
