Dri-Yup, Shweet Hot!
What's all the fuss about? So some thirty folks were killed at Virginia Tech yesterday by a mad man. So what? Another 4,000 Americans died yesterday at the hands of death care professionals. Some were torn into pieces while still alive and without any medication for the pain. Others had their skin burned off chemically without anesthetic. Others were suffocated. Others were thrown into trash bins to die slowly from exposure and/or hampered breathing. And none will receive a proper funeral. Instead, many of these folks will have their cadavers raided without their knowledge or permission, for spare parts sold by the murderers to who knows--maybe you. They were aborted so their American parents can have sex whenever and with whomever they want.
So, you'll excuse me if I don't bawl my eyes out for Virginia Tech.
Dry-eyed,
Phil Perkins.

Phil, I think you are forgetting (maybe not) that the commandment 'thou shalt not kill' extends to the unborn as well as those who have lived outside the womb. What you are saying sounds cold and caloused and does not acknowledge that fact that PEOPLE matter to God. I cannot believe your statments. Thirty people died for no good reason and you say 'So what?'!!!! I'll tell you what...Christ cared enough to die for those people...and he comforts those who mourn for thier deaths. I agree that abortion is abhorrent...the fact of the matter is that every life is precious, that is why abortion is murder. So by taking a stance like this about any other murder you are really contradicting yourself.
Anna,
Three words for you: HYPERBOLE, PROPORTION, JUDGMENT.
HYPERBOLE is a literary device whereby exaggeration is used to make a point. The point here is the cold and caloused way we ignore the dead by abortion and a number of common modes of murder American society engages in every day, and the hypocricy that involves. We have murdered more than 40 million babies. The murderer at Virginia Tech killed 32 or so. So if you are exercized about that slaughter, you ought to be insane with anger and grief over abortion.
PROPORTION refers to the difference or similarity in size, weight, or intensity of a thing, process, or event often expressed in mathematical terms or in perceived psychological effect. Thirty people dead is a big deal to us. And it should be. These people should be properly mourned. However, the murder of thousands of babies is not mourned. Thus we exhibit why God hates this nation. (God hates the violent in His very soul--Psalm 11.)
JUDGMENT is the act of God whereby He deals out pain, desolation, and destruction to peoples and nations who do wickedness--Amos 3. It is morally reprehensible that we mourn 30 whom we deem worthy, while we ignore the murder of millions killed in our stalinesque abortion facilities. Either mourn both atrocities in proportion to their magnitude or shut up about Virginia Tech. Our hyprocricy is enormous.
Oh, by the way. Have you screamed about the 17,000 or so killed on the highway every year by drunkeness? Have you written to the CEO of Coors? I'll just hazard a guess that you haven't. And you won't. But then maybe he/she is not cold and caloused like I am, huh?
I'll apologize for my hyperbolous article about Virginia Tech when America apologizes for the murder of millions on the altar of our pleasure.
In Christ,
Phil Perkins.
