When It Rains Rabbits, It Pours Rabbits!
I cannot believe this. I just strolled over to Team Pyro. There I found an article by Phil Johnson on the dangers of schism and the need for separation.
Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk again. I just can't believe it--what an opening! I asked him why he still associated with Tim Challies after Challies has approved of an altered Bible version. (He has not yet answered an email on that very subject and it was sent weeks ago--keep in mind, he was on vacation.)
Smokin' out more rabbits,
Phil Perkins. PS--Here's what I commented over there:
---------------------------------------------
Phil Johnson,
Here's a question I asked you in an as-yet-unanwered email, but it is in line with your topic here. (I understand you're busy, too.) I see you push Tim Challies a lot. I used to recommend him as well. I quit that because he has recently plugged an audio form of the TNIV. When I asked how he could reconcile that with the scriptural admonitions to never alter the Bible, he simply got angry.
In light of the fact that the TNIV was purposely altered from the original to be more feminist-friendly, and in light of the fact that the Scripture strictly forbids such a practice, why do you still associate with someone doing and approving things for which the Old Covenant prescribes stoning and the New prescribes excommunication?
I know you associate with John MacArthur. He would never approve of things like the TNIV would he?
Do you?
In Christ,
Phil Perkins.

Phil:
At Pulpit Magazine you mention Phil Johnson treating you like a hillbilly in a straw hat.
I am very familiar with Phil. He, is an example of a widespread trend among most (not all) Calvinists.
With Phil many find him to be an intellectual elitist. He and those who behave as he does are a modern day examaple of the new evangelical mindset of the 40's and 50's. They try to drown out voices like yours through the din of scholarship to the neglect of faith.
In the Calvinism/Lordship Salvation debates you will be readily dismissed of all credibility by most Calvinists.
They will do anything they can to discredit you regardless of what you have to say.
Some of them are the most unethical people I have ever met. They want acceptance and tolerance from non-Calvinists, but are unwilling to extend the same courtesy to the non-Calvinist. Do not let them intimidate you. Laugh with me.

hello friend:
do your homework: the TNIV was not purposely altered to be more feminist friendly...uneducated comments like that make you look like a dolt and make Believers look like all they do is fight...please, find something worthy to fight for.
Lou,
I really appreciate the encouragement, especially at a time like this. I peaked at your sight. Would like to have a long talk with you sometime.
You're right. They are not honest and even their scholarship is not all that hot. Centurion's logic is very poor. He'd flunk a logic class.
Will talk more to you later.
In Christ,
Phil Perkins.

Google TNIV, R. C. Sproul, and Colorado Springs. Do your homework.
